Palo Alto is highly desirable community located in the northwest conrner of Santa Clara, in the San Franciso Bay Area.  It is named after a coast redwood tree called El Palo Alto, and the town was originally established by Leland Stanford Senior, when he originally founded Stanford University.  Palo Alto includes portions of Stanford and is headquarters to a number of high-tech companies, including Hewlet Packard, Space Systems/Loral, VMware, Tesla Motors, Ford Research and many others.  As of the the 2010 census, the population is approximately 65,000, and Palo Alto is one of the most expensive cities in the US, and its residents are some of the most educated in the entire country.  Palo Alto has a vibrant downtown, several beautiful city parks, as well as beatiful tree lined residential streets.
